Below are some of the most frequently asked questions that may help you in preparing for your flight.

Can I bring my pet with me?

Small domestic animals which are kept as pets or roosters may be transported on domestic flights for a fee. Assistance animals trained to aid persons with impaired vision and/or hearing may accompany the customer on domestic or international flights. Transportation of animals is subject to restrictions and space availability. See our FAQS for more information and pet fees.

Can I charter a private aircraft?

If you wish to charter an aircraft, we will be happy to speak with you.  Please contact our Charter Dept. during regular business hours.

Do I need to show photo identification at check in?

We do require government issued identification upon check in. Please have this prepared before checking in for your flight.

Do you send freight / cargo / letters between your destinations?

How long has Seaborne Airlines been operating?

Seaborne Airlines has been in operation for over 15 years. Please check “Our Story” in the About Us section.

How long is each flight?

Seaborne flights range from 20 minutes to 43 minutes, depending on your origin and destination.  For your convenience, our flight route map, with mileage and length of time are detailed on our Map and Schedule page.

How many seats are available on your aircraft?

Our seaplanes seat up to 15 passengers.
Our airshuttles seat up to 17 passengers.

How soon before the flight should I check in?

Please make best efforts to make your flight at the recommended time.   Passengers that arrive for check-in just prior or at flight close will not be placed on the flight in order to ensure we provide US Customs proper paperwork within guidelines provided and to ensure an on time departure for the flight.  If you miss your flight you will be required to pay a change fee of $10 plus any difference in fare for the next available flight.  Seaborne will not be responsible for any additional expenses incurred if your flight is missed.

Is their parking available at your locations?

seaplane: Parking is available at seaplane locations. However, Seaborne Airlines does not manage the parking lots.
airshuttle: For pay parking is available at all airports served by the airshuttle except Vieques where it is gratis.

What are your hours of operation?

seaplane Hours:

  • Monday – Friday :: 8:00am to 5:00pm
  • St. Croix & St. Thomas Stations :: 6:00am to 6:30pm

airshuttle Airport Hours:

  • St. Croix, Monday thru Sunday :: 6:00am to 8:00pm
  • St. Thomas, Monday thru Sunday :: 8:00am to 6:00pm
  • San Juan, Monday thru Sunday:: 7:00am to 7:00pm

Reservations Hours:

  • Monday – Friday :: 6:00am to 7:30pm
  • Saturday ::  6:00am to 6:30pm
  • Sunday :: 7:00am to 6:30pm.

What is the cost to fly between the islands?

The cost to fly between the islands can vary.  Our Fare Guide page provides a detailed explanation of our fares.  To find a specific ticket price, please use the Book Online feature (on all pages). You will not need to complete a reservation but you will be able to see flight times, fares, and availability so you may book the very best flight and fare for you.

What is the luggage allowance per passenger?

The allowable luggage per person is 30lbs. Baggage in excess of 30lbs will incur an additional charge of $1.00 per lb and be transported on a space available basis.  Our baggage allowance policies are described on the Fare Guide page.

What type of aircraft do you operate?

DeHavilland Twin Otters are the only plane that Seaborne Airlines flies.  Please see our fleet page for details.

When I get to my destination what is the best way to get a rental car?

Avis LogoAVIS is our car rental partner. When you make your booking an agent can book the car rental at the same time and get you our Avis discount!

Where are you located in San Juan, St. Thomas, and St. Croix?

Seaplane locations are solely on St. Croix and St. Thomas – each destination page has the location details.

Airshuttle locations are at St. Croix, St. Thomas, and Vieques and Tortola/Virgin Gorda airports. On San Juan, Seaborne operates flights from San Juan International airport.  Each destination page has the location details.
